Recognition as a Contractor.

Three conditions, two outcomes

Recognition as a contractor proves three things: your technical capability, your financial strength and your professional integrity. Your technical capability determines the category, the type of work you can perform. Your financial strength determines the class, the maximum amount you can bid for. There are 8 classes,from class 1 up to €162,000 to class 8 with no upper limit.

Recognised at award, not at tender

You don't need to have recognition in order when you apply for a public contract. It must be in order when the contract is awarded to you. If you don't have the right class or category, the contract cannot be awarded to you. Filing a dossier with the Contractors Recognition Commission should not wait until the last moment.

Note: recognition is only valid for 5 years. If you request renewal too late, you risk having no valid recognition between contracts.
