One permit, two separate steps
Placing a terrace on public land requires a permit from your municipality. This permit sets the dimensions, layout, and usually the allowed season. An environmental permit for the terrace itself is not enough. You also need a separate authorisation or concession to actually use the public land.
Applying on time is half the battle
Most municipalities require an applicationat least 15 working days before your desired installation date. You attach a plan or photo showing dimensions and layout: tables, chairs, fencing, and materials. In some municipalities, a non-covered terrace is only allowed from 1 March to 31 October. On top of the permit, you pay an annual terrace tax each year, with amounts varying widely by municipality.
Important:a terrace outside the permitted boundaries or outside the permitted season can result in an administrative fine. You must also remove the terrace immediately.
Ready for terrace season
Which conditions apply depends on your municipality and the type of terrace you want. We prepare the correct plan with the right dimensions and submit your application on time to the right department. This way you enjoy your terrace from the first fine day of the year, with no hassle afterwards. Book an appointment, and we'll check together exactly what your municipality requires.
