What do you need to declare?

In your income tax return, you declare all your income from the previous year. There are several categories:

  • Professional income: salary, pension, replacement income or foreign income

  • Property income: for example, if you rent out a property

  • Investment income: dividends or interest

  • Miscellaneous income: for example, income from occasional work

What tax benefits do people miss?

Many people file their tax return without claiming all the tax benefits they're entitled to. Pension savings, for example, gives you a 30% tax reduction, up to €1,050 per year. Childcare costs and the tax relief on your mortgage interest are also frequently overlooked.

What's the deadline?

A paper tax return must be filed by 30 June 2026.

Watch out: if you file late, you pay extra fees on top of your tax. If you don't file at all, the tax office may set an amount themselves. That always works against you.

You don't need to figure this out alone. Connect Inn checks which benefits you qualify for, completes your return correctly and files it with the authorities. For income tax as a private individual, no appointment is needed. You can drop by during opening hours.
